International Internships in China with Local Expertise
Through our exclusive network within the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, we help international students secure meaningful internships in and around Shanghai. We work with trusted companies in sectors such as marketing, finance, technology, hospitality, and law. These partnerships, allow us to offer international internship opportunities where students contribute to real projects and develop industry-specific skills. Interns also have the opportunity to build valuable professional networks. Every placement is supported within a structured and well-guided environment.
Please note: This program is only open to students who are currently enrolled at a university outside of China.
As of 2025, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce is the only Chamber of Commerce which has a partnership with local authorities to provide assistance in obtaining a legal internship permit.
Fully Compliant Internships
Every Intern2China placement is 100% legal and fully approved by local authorities, with a specialized internship permit issued by the Shanghai Entry-Exit Bureau.

Cultural Immersion
Begin your journey with a 4-week Mandarin language and culture course at our partner university, East China Normal University. Through interactive classes and workshops, you’ll build a solid foundation for daily life in China and gain a deeper understanding of local culture.
Tailored Matching
We start with a personal intake call to understand your background, skills, and career goals. Based on your profile, we match you with companies that align with your interests. You’ll work on real projects that build relevant experience and support your professional growth.

As an Intern2China participant, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the Benelux Chamber’s vibrant business community. Through events, company visits, and informal meetups, you’ll gain valuable insights into the Chinese market and build connections with professionals across a wide range of industries, laying the groundwork for your future career.
How it Works
1. Online Application
Start by completing the application form before the deadline
You’ll need to submit the following materials:
• Your professional CV
• A signed Internship Support Agreement (ISA)
• A Letter of Motivation answering the following questions (max. 150 words per question):
– Why are you interested in the Intern2China program?
– What experience or skills do you have that could contribute to this program?
– What are your future career goals, and how does this internship align with them?
• Proof of your student status
• Proof of payment for the Internship Support Fee (as outlined in the ISA)
2. Intake Call
Once your application has been received, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce will contact you and schedule an intake call. You’ll have a brief interview with a member of the Benelux Chamber team to discuss your goals and expectations for your internship journey.
3. Internship Matchmaking
We’ll match you with a company that aligns with your profile and career interests. If both parties agree, you’ll then sign a separate internship agreement directly with the host company.
4. Preparation
The Benelux Chamber will provide step-by-step support with flight booking, visa applications, and preparation for your stay in China.
5. Start in China
Start your internship in Shanghai, join Benelux Chamber events, and enjoy a full cultural and professional experience!
